Josh Materne

Josh Materne is an experienced attorney and investment adviser with a comprehensive approach to his client's financial and investment needs.  Josh earned his Juris Doctor (JD) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in finance and real estate from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.

Prior to moving to Texas, Josh enjoyed a successful career in politics and public policy.  After graduating with honors from Florida State University (FSU) with a BS in Political Science, Josh began working for the President of the Florida Senate and working towards a Master's in Public Policy and Politics at FSU.  Next, Josh worked for a Lobbying firm representing banks and financial institutions and volunteered on multiple political campaigns in Florida.  Upon completing his master’s degree, Josh accepted a job in Virginia with the 2012 Mitt Romney Presidential Campaign.  After completing the campaign, Josh moved to Washington, D.C., to work for a congressman on Capitol Hill.  After almost a year in the Congressman’s office, Josh was offered a position working for a consulting firm that advised the world's largest banks and financial institutions.  Josh advised clients on current and proposed policies that would impact their business.  Finally, after two and a half years in D.C., Josh decided to head back south to warmer weather for Law School and Business School.

Currently, Josh is a licensed attorney in Texas and Louisiana, and his firm Materne Law, PLLC, specializes in Estate Planning, Tax Planning, Business Planning, and Real Estate Transactions.   Josh is also the President of the Ideology Multi-Family Office, which includes the related company Ideology Wealth Advisors, a Registered Investment Adviser. Ideology Multi-Family Office provides a complete solution for the financial and investment needs of affluent individuals and families.  Their services include investment advisory, financial planning, tax advisory, estate planning, Insurance analysis and management, retirement income strategies, family security, family education, financial mentoring, and philanthropy.

When not working, Josh spends most of his time with his wife Elizabeth and daughters Amelia and Madison. They enjoy family trips to Florida, Utah, and Napa Valley.  For fun, Josh plays golf, having played in college and professionally, and collects and enjoys rare bourbons.  Josh founded and runs the bourbon-focused charity, The Barrels and Bottles Foundation, which raises money to train and provide service animals to veterans and gives financial assistance to families fighting pediatric cancer.  The charity has issued more than $250,000 in grants since its inception in 2020.
