Gerald Michael Materne

Gerald Michael Materne began working in the financial business in 1984.  Jerry soon realized that the only way he could be a fiduciary for his clients, was to be an independent financial adviser not attached to a financial institution.  In 1987 Jerry began his independent financial advisory firm.

Jerry has been a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) since 1988 and has been providing financial strategies, and customized planning for his clients with a special emphasis on physicians and healthcare professionals for almost 40 years.

Jerry has been included in the Medical Economics list of the “150 Best Financial Advisers for Doctors”.  He was also associated with Louisiana Medical Mutual Insurance Company (LAMMICO) from 1989-1994.

Prior to beginning his career as a Certified Financial Planner and a Registered Investment Advisor, Jerry was a United States Marine.  Following active duty in the USMC, he played football for Coach Charlie McClendon at LSU.  He began his football career as a walk-on and earned a scholarship after his first season. He was hired by LSU football Coach Bo Rein in 1979 to be a graduate assistant coach working with the offensive coordinator.  Jerry graduated from LSU in 1980 with a BS degree in business education.  Jerry also coached football at Holy Cross High School in New Orleans and Tulane University under Coaches Wally English and Bob Davie.

Jerry’s financial expertise is in the area of developing income strategies for clients.  The goal for every client is to have an income strategy that provides the client with the best chance of not outliving their money.

When not working, Jerry spends his time in Florida (hopefully at the beach) with Lorene, his wife of 45 years. A relaxing day for Jerry is spending family time with his 3 sons, their wives, and his expanding number of grandchildren.
